Cactus fruit
0The cactus fruit is common on Malta. We see them everywhere… They are full of seeds, but the taste is sweet. Just peel of the skin and dig in. But beware of the cactus tags on the skin when you peel them!
Sunset at Għajn Tuffieħa
0Għajn Tuffieħa Tower is a fortification that stands on the cliffs overlooking the shore at Għajn Tuffieħa Bay on the north west coast of Malta. It is one of Lascaris towers that Grand Master Juan de Lascaris-Castellar of the the Knights of Malta ordered be built (1637). A watchtower, it was originally armed with a half pounder gun and garrisoned by four men.
Almost full moon
0Took this picture of the moon when we were about to leave Mdina.
Lunch in Mdina
0After Baħrija we went to Mdina to look at the views and to have lunch.
Baħrija again… same building but another flat
0The estate agent wanted us to look at the other apartments in the building in Baħrija where we’ve been looking at the penthouse. It is bigger and cheaper. But there is only a small balcony on the front and the view is no longer unobstructed. There are power lines or telephone lines just above the horizon. Those lines would drive me crazy every day when I look at the view…
Chelle and Isak were with us so they also saw the flat in Baħrija. They thought we should go for the penthouse.
Moisture damage is getting worse
0The moisture damage in our study is one month old now. Black mold has appeared and the surrounding wall is still soaking wet. We’ve cleaned the wall once, but the mold just keeps coming back. Our landlord says the neighbour has fixed the pipe, but I guess it will take some time before it dries up.
